If we were to believe what we saw in the Television show, The Monkees, the group was not as quite as successful as they were outside of that box.
How do we know this? Rather than rivaling The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, they feuded with The Four Swine.
Who?
The Four Swine competed against The Monkees in a talent contest only to have the latter’s manager try to distract them from getting to the event. The Monkees made it there, but both bands would lose to the Lester Crabtree and the Three Crabs.
We never learned much about the Four Swine's music, but they did dress like bikers, so at least we know that much. - TV Show/Movie Appeared: The Monkees (1966)
