  • Jo Stafford was a very accomplished and famous singer, and Paul Weston was a classically trained pianist. The married couple would entertain their friends at parties by pretending to be an awful lounge act, and from there, they got the idea to take that act on the road. They were deliberately awful and got attention on television and even put out albums, despite people knowing who was behind it. The bottom line is that you have to pretty talented to pretend to be that untalented.
  • TV Show/Movie Appeared: Jonathan and Darlene Edwards in Paris (1960)

  • Songs you may remember: Anything you would hear in a lounge.
  • Why you should vote:: As far as we can tell, this was (we think) the first parody of a lounge act.
  • Why you should not vote:: Chances are you don’t remember them.
