Originally named Cameron, Johnny Rainbow competed in the American Idol knockoff, Krusty the Klown Li’l Starmaker Competition, where he faced stiff competition in the form of Lisa Simpson. Lisa and her father, Homer, had a falling out, and he took Cameron under his wing, rechristening the child as Johnny Rainbow, but the senior Simpson sabotaged him with inane lyrics, and he lost to Lisa.
