In the 1956 film, "The Girl Can't Help It," Jordan is manipulated into becoming a singer, and realistically there was nothing special about her singing except for the receptacle it came for it,

Where it gets tricky is that this was a ground-breaking film in terms of rock and roll as the backstory featured real rock stars of the era, which helped push the relatively new genre.
