Signed to Empire's sub-label of Gutter Life Records, Freda Gatz is the daughter of a drug kingpin, Frank Gathers (Chris Rock). Gatz is a very gifted rapper and becomes a pet project of Lucious Lyon, who becomes a father figure to her. She in turn becomes a tool to use for Lucious to use against his own son, Hakeem. Frankly, one of our favorite moments in Empire was when she went one on one in a rap battle against Hakeem.
