gold star for USAHOF

The Country Music Hall of Fame announced that Tim McGraw, the Stanley Brothers, and Paul Overstreet will comprise the Class of 2026.

Tim McGraw:  One of the most successful country musicians in the last thirty years, McGraw has had ten albums go to the top of the country charts, with 25 of his singles reaching number one.  With over 80 million albums sold, three Grammys, and multiple successful concert tours, McGraw was an easy selection for the Country Hall to make.

The Stanley Brothers: Entering via the Veterans’ Era wing, The Stanley Brothers (Carter and Ralph) are an induction long overdue.  They were inducted into the International Bluegrass Hall of Fame in 1992 and were considered influential within their genre.

Paul Overstreet: Overstreet, who was a solid singer in his own right, wrote number one songs for The Forester Sisters, Marie Osmond, Randy Travis, Michael Martin Murphey, Tanya Tucker, and Keith Whitley.

Special thanks to Aaron Edward Freeman, who curates our Notinhalloffame Country Music List.

We here at Notinhalloffame would like to congratulate the incoming members of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Regular contributor Spheniscus has brought us something that we are very excited to share with all of you. It won’t be long before the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announces who their Finalist for the next class and our friend from Chicago by way of Boston has put together his top 40 acts in terms of their chances who enter eligibility this year.

Tim McGraw

A major star on the Country music scene, Tim McGraw will be another who will ask the question of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to look at the exceptionally popular genre to potentially open their doors. As we have mentioned on the site before, with Willie Nelson out of the Hall, the New Country stars don’t stand a chance, regardless of how well they kick butt in front of a crowd.
