We apologize for being a little late with this, but congratulations go out to Abdullah the Butcher for his induction to the WWE Hall of Fame.  We have to admit, that we never thought it would happen due to his lack of WWE tenure, but it is an induction that we are thoroughly behind.

Boy, am I getting tired of writing about people passing away.  However, I guess when you start a website that focuses on legendary figures, there is a good chance that this will happen on a regular basis.  The latest name is known only to wrestling fans, that being, Sir Oliver Humperdink who was a long time manager in regional promotions and had a near one year stint in the WWF.

Humperdink was at time a wrestler himself, but he did not have the physical gifts to be a headliner.  He worked his way into managing, and was a fixture in the South, mostly in Florida.  Humperdink entered the WWF as the face manager of Bam Bam Bigelow and Paul Orndorff, but he was essentially muted in the role.  He would resurface in WCW, going back to his rulebreaking ways, but he never seemed to be an effective figure on a National scale.  We here at notinhalloffame had Oliver Humperdink ranked at #199 on our list for those the WWE should consider for the Hall of Fame, and we say goodbye to the "Big Kahuna".

The WWE announced its newest inductee to their celebrity wing which is Drew Carey.  For those unaware, Carey was actually a participant in the 2001 Royal Rumble where he eliminated himself rather than face Kane.  Carey did a couple of backstage skts on the Pay Per View, but beyond those two minutes talking with Vince McMahon and three minutes in the ring, Carey was never seen in the WWE again.  We did not rank him on our Celebrity Inductee list, and we don't regret that decision.  Drew Carey did entertain that night, but there are far more deserving celebrity inductees than Drew Carey.

Well gang, with all the talk that we constantly do around here regarding who should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, we almost forgot that tonight is the official induction of the 2011 Class.

Needless to say, regular visitors to our site will know how happy we are with Alice Cooper's induction and pleasantly surprised by Tom Waits, Leon Russell and Neil Diamond getting in.  Dr. John and Darlene Love are also set to be inducted tonight, though the latter two did not have high spots on our rankings.

Regardless, this is the night that we here at notinhalloffame.com look forward to every year, and here is to the future Class of 2012.  May we be happy with the inductees, but who are we kidding right?
