Honestly, he's an NFL MVP! For all the players who come and go there aren't that many MVP's and Boomer is one. He brought the Bengals to a Super Bowl. He is a Walter Peyton Award Recipient and he continues to partake in so many positive ways for the NFL. Represents all that is good as a player and a man. And others would not have as successful careers without him. HE made other players better. He absolutely belongs in the Hall.

The problem with Boomer is that he only truly had about 4 seasons which we can consider very good or great. The remaining 2/3rds of his career though he was merely adequate.
For much of his career, he simply wasn't a highly productive QB in terms of creating volume. So much so, that after the 1990 season he failed to throw more than 17 TD's in any season (91-97).
I will readily admit that he was a great QB overall, under Sam Wyche from 85 through 89, but beyond that his career wasn't impressive.
Another "No" for HoF induction

:-) I am trying compile a lot friends, family members, and especially “sports writers”, which they ultimately matter to induct All Pro Quarterback “Boomer Esiason” who played 14 seasons in the NFL Hall of Fame. I talked to Boomer today (9/12/12) and told him personally I want nothing in return, because I respect the man as a Football player, Broadcaster, and as Family man.
This is also coming from a man (me), who lives and breathes” NY Giants Football,” but I am a realistic fan. So therefore I have put together a few other Quarterbacks who are in the NFL Hall of Fame, whom deserve to be (which I respect as well) and they are as follows: “Jim Kelly, Steve Young, Troy Aikman, and finally (and I know I am going to catch a lot of heat for saying this one,) and that is Dan Marino
:-)
