Marcy Playground

With a successful hit, “Sex and Candy”, Marcy Playground vaulted in the musical consciousness of the world in 1997. Unfortunately for the band, that was about all they did and unless something drastically changes in the next ten years, we can’t imagine there is any chance for this one hit wonder to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Lit

We are not sure how this band became so forgotten so fast, but for a while in the late 90’s and early 00’s, California’s Lit was a very respected band. With a few hits on the Alternative charts, Lit made a dent in the musical landscape, but they have failed to do so in recent years. Unless that changes, there is little reason to think they could enter the Hall.

108. Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit may be arguable the most successful Nu-Metal band of all time, but they are far from the most acclaimed. Led by Fred Durst, the band’s energy cannot be questioned, but this is a band that is either completely adored or colossally despised; depending on whom you ask.

Idlewild

The rapid fire Indie Rock band from Scotland, Idlewild, made a decent dent in the U.K. music, scene in the mid 00’s. Seemingly playing with a faster pace than their contemporaries, the group was a very good Post-Grunge band that sounded different enough to make them stand out from the pack. Alas, we know the drill for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; a band has to make in the States to be a contender, and that did not happen for Idlewild.
