Clearly influenced by Oasis, Drive Shaft was a one hit wonder who was featured on the hit program, Lost. Through flashbacks in the show, we learned that sex and drugs (what else) rendered the band irrelevant, but through featured Lost character, Charlie Pace we learned a lot about that band and that lone hit. Frankly, never has a one hit wonder had a better chance at a Hall of Fame than this. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Lost (2004-10) Actors: Dominic Monaghan (Charlie Pace) Neil Hopkins (Liam Pace) And two others we assume…. Songs you might remember: You All Everybody Why you should vote for them: When you are in a television show this popular, this has to be a solid contender. Why you should not vote for them: A one hit wonder has to struggle for any Hall of Fame. {youtube}

Jason Bateman’s first shot in a leading role was in a pre Ferris Beuller role as a young con man in a 1984 Sitcom, It’s Your Move. The show only lasted one season, but it is still a favorite among many for the era, and when it is discussed, usually it is the “Dregs of Humanity” who are referenced. The Dregs were actually science class skeletons that Bateman put together to appear at the school dance after his dufus friend (Eli) lost the money to hire the original band. With fog, lights, lots of string and prerecorded Heavy Metal, the band was a hit, and is actually interviewed by Norman (who played Bateman’s mother’s boyfriend), which would be sold to Rolling Stone Magazine. The band is killed off when they no show a sold out concert (remember, they were an instant hit) and it is later revealed that they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now how can we ignore them for the Fictitious Hall with that nugget of information? The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: It’s Your Move (1984-85) Actors: None…they were skeletons! Songs you might remember: Nothing. Why you should vote for them: We are going to play the card they fictitiously entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Why you should not vote for them: They are skeletons! {youtube}

Specifically the version from the movie version of Dreamgirls, The Dreams were the Diana Ross and the Supremes knockoff that gave us a cast that gave us an Academy Award Winner (Jennifer Hudson) and one of the biggest musical stars ever (Beyonce). Hudson won the Oscar, but overall the trio was brilliant and was a version worth considering for this Fictitious Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Dreamgirls (2006) Actors: Beyonce Knowles (Gino Minnelli, Guitar) Jennifer Hudson (Martha Spino, Vocals) Anika Noni-Rose (Morris Weiner, Keyboards) Songs you might remember: Dreamgirls And I am Telling You I am not Going (Hudson) Why you should vote for them: Overall, they were brilliant. Why you should not vote for them: It was so close to the Supremes, that it was not “fictitious” enough. {youtube}

First off we will apologize as we think the name of the fictitious band in the brief CBS show, Dreams was called Dreams. Even if we are wrong, does it really matter that much? With only twelve episodes and minuscule ratings this is just an answer to an unasked trivia question of what show starred Jami Gertz and John Stamos? The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Dreams (1984) Actors: John Stamos (Gino Minnelli, Guitar) Jami Gertz (Martha Spino, Vocals) Albert Macklin (Morris Weiner, Keyboards) Valerie Stevenson (Lisa Copley, Vocals) Cain Devore (Phil Taylor, Bass) Songs you might remember: Alone Why you should vote for them: Doesn’t everybody love Stamos? Why you should not vote for them: There are a million reasons. {youtube}
