A great voice died today.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Gregg Allman passed away peacefully today in his home in Savannah, Georgia.  Allman was 69 years old and had been reportedly battling liver problems for the past five years.

Considered by many to be one of the true fathers of Southern Rock, Allman formed the famed Allman Brothers Band with his older brother and acclaimed guitarist, Duane.  Melting the Southern rock sound with the upcoming jamming scene from San Francisco, The Allman Brothers spoke to Americans coast to coast.

The Allmans were influenced by the Blues, and Gregg’s whiskey soaked rasp was the perfect partner for his smooth yet electric keyboard playing.  The band became commercially successful, but Gregg emerged as the breakout star, especially with his marriage to Cher, which exposed him to a different audience than he would have normally received.

Allman would also strike out on his own and put out a respected discography and had a reputation for being one of the great live performers in music history.

We here at Notinhalloffame.com extend our condolences to the friends and family of Gregg Allman at this time.

Looking back at the Super Bowl recent history the New England Patriots have are now on the doorsteps of becoming the most legendary team in the NFL and a strong favorite to win once more the next Super Bowl in 2018.

In 2017 they faced the Atlanta Falcons with a horrible first half being down by over 20 points. A tremendous comeback gave them a 34-28 overtime victory to win their 5th Super Bowl title in a league were no clear favorites have existed over time, but this seems to be changing with the Patriots consistent Super Bowl appearances and favoritism.
It is a very sad day for the National Football League and specifically the Seattle Seahawks.

Former Defensive Tackle Cortez Kennedy passed away today at the age of 48.  There is no cause of death listed at this time.

A ferocious run-stopper, Kennedy was the third overall pick out of the University of Miami.  In a professional career that was spent entirely with the Seattle Seahawks, Kennedy was a seven time Pro Bowl Selection and a three time First Team All Pro, his best season coming in 1992 where he was named the Defensive Player of the Year.  He would record 58 career Sacks.

Kennedy was inducted into the Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor and would be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012.

We here at Notinhalloffame.com would like to extend our condolences to the friends and family of Cortez Kennedy at this time.
