Ed Konetchy was with the St Louis Cardinals for the first seven years of his professional career before he jumped to Pittsburgh of the Federal League.

As a Cardinal, Konetchy was somewhat underrated in the league and arguably in Cardinals lore.  The First Baseman was the Doubles leader in 1911 and while that was the only time he finished first in any offensive category he was (as a Cardinal) in the top ten in Batting Average three times and Runs Batted In four times.  Konetchy was also in the top ten in bWAR for Position players four times as a Cardinal.  It should also be mentioned that he was a good defensive player who would finish first four times among National League First Basemen in Range Factor per Game and Fielding Percentage.

Overall, he would accrue 1,013 Hits with a .283 Batting Average and 151 Stolen Bases for St. Louis.
