Matt Carpenter played the first 11 years of his career with the St. Louis Cardinaks, the team he had by far his greatest success.

A three-time All-Star, Carpenter would lead the National League in Hits (199), Runs Scored (126) and Doubles (55) in 2013, which was a year where he won the Silver Slugger and was fourth in MVP voting.  Carpenter has steadily increased his power numbers with four 20 Home Run Seasons and a career-high of 36 in 2018 where he returned to the top ten in MVP voting (ninth).  Carpernter slowed down by the end of the decade, and was signed by the Texas Rangers in 2022, though they released him, and he wound up with the Yankees.

With St. Louis, Carpenter had 1,153 Hits and 155 Home Runs.
