Recently, Seattle Seahawks Defensive Back, Richard Sherman discussed how ratings were down in the National Football League because the league wasn’t fun.  Perhaps the Pro Football Hall of Fame has taken their cue.

Traditionally when players are inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame they receive an official Hall of Fame jacket and ring.  When asked over Twitter when the late Ken Stabler’s family would be receiving their jacket and ring, Kendra Stabler Moyes (Ken’s daughter) stated that they did not receive one, and will not be in the future.

To make matters worse, when she asked if it could be purchased, the family was told by the Hall of Fame President, David Baker, a firm “No” with the reason being that they did not want families selling the items or fighting over them.

Pretty stupid rationale, wouldn’t you say?

There is no support for this decision, especially from the team that Stabler starred for years, the Oakland Raiders themselves.

Current Head Coach, Jack Del Rio succinctly stated on Twitter for the Hall to “Do the right thing”.   Current Raiders owner, Mark Davis pointed out that he has his fathers (Al Davis) ring and that the families of Stabler, Junior Seau and Dick Stanfel should also.

Davis, in a phone interview with ESPN, stated that he learned of this situation earlier as he was intending to honor Stabler’s family with a halftime ceremony presenting the ring and jacket.

With the backlash that the Pro Football HOF is receiving, will they do the right thing as Del Rio says?

Let’s hope!

Tupac Shakur has been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and has a good chance of getting inducted.  If Common has his way, there will be a lot more to follow.

As part of an interview with Rolling Stone, the rapper/actor had this to say:

Queen Latifah is one of the first people to come to mind, A Tribe Called Quest. De La Soul! De La Soul is so powerful. Nas and OutKast are some that come to mind, as well."

The precedent of rap finding a place in the Rock Hall has long been underway with Grandmaster Flash paving the way for other artists like Run DMC, Public Enemy and N.W.A. to follow.

Nas and OutKast are not yet eligible for the Rock Hall, but will be ranked high by us once eligible.

Now we sit and wait for Gene Simmons’ response.
Is this really a controversy?

Those of you following the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year know that for the first time, Journey was nominated for the Hall.  Going against past tradition, the Cleveland bases institution has announced which members of nominated bands would receive induction.  Current Journey singer, Arnel Pineda is not listed on the ballot, which has made keyboardist, Jonathan Cain a little upset.

“There is no Journey without Arnel right now. He certainly has earned his stripes. He's been with us longer than any lead singer has consecutively stayed in the band. He's given us 10 years straight, not running off or doing this, doing that, just being The Guy. So that's worth something,"

While Pineda has been with them a long time and unquestionably has a voice that can match original singer, Steve Perry, it was Perry who originally sang and recorded the hits…which is what they still play predominantly today.

At present, Journey is doing very well with the fan vote, often a precursor for future induction.  Should that happen could we see a temporary reunion with Perry?

Could be!
This is a long process isn’t it?

As many of you are aware, we are in the process of working on another series of lists here at Notinhalloffame.com.  That is the Top 50 players of every major North American Franchise.  As such, we are proud to present our second team (all of which whose order has been chosen at random), the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Granted, we know that Minnesota has not been an overly successful franchise, but the process means that we have to do them all!

Clearly the number one choice is obvious, the recently retired Kevin Garnett, but the fun part is watching this list change with it being a young franchise.

We will give you the top five now for those of you interested:

1. Kevin Garnett

2. Kevin Love

3. Wally Szczerbiak

4. Terrell Brandon

5. Tom Gugliotta

Who are the rest?

You can find them here:

We will be unveiling another franchise from Minnesota, the Minnesota Vikings.

As always, we here at Notinhalloffame.com thank you for your support!
