Mike Sweeney is one of the all-time good guys of the Kansas City Royals in terms of dugout presence, community involvement and just being a quality human being. More importantly (for this list anyway) he was a pretty solid player.

A five-time All-Star, Sweeney put up some good solid offensive numbers. Sweeney would hit at least 20 Home Runs six times and was a .300 hitter five times, finishing as high as .333 where he was 11th in MVP voting. Sweeney’s overall offensive numbers showed 1,398 Hits, 197 Home Runs with a .299 Batting Average. His ranking would likely be a little higher if his defensive skills weren’t sub-par.

Sweeney was inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame in 2015.
