On paper, how is it possible that a hockey player who logged only one game in the NHL and is best remembered as a coach for a too many men on the ice call that cost his Boston Bruins a chance at a Stanley Cup birth, possibly enter the Hockey Hall of Fame?. Well, when that former player and coach is Don Cherry, who may very well be the most well-known man in hockey north of the border.

The career of Tammi Terrell was just getting started when she literally collapsed on stage into Marvin Gaye’s arms. Terrell would pass away at the age of 24 to a brain tumor but not before she and Marvin Gaye would record some of the most beautiful love songs recorded. As Gaye is already long since in the Hall, Terrell is a long shot especially since she did very little on her own, but everyone loves a good story so an induction for Tammi Terrell is not completely impossible.

From the Block parties of New York City where Rap music gained its first bit of steam, the Sugarhill Gang emerged as its first champions. They scored their place in music history with the first mainstream Rap hit of note with the still often played, Rapper’s Delight. Although they did not do much more of note, it is difficult to ignore that they helped usher Rap to the mainstream. An induction here would not be a complete surprise.

They may be best known for providing the hit song (and inspiration apparently) for the John Hughes classic, Pretty in Pink; but Molly Ringwald aside the Psychadelic Furs were among the best that New Wave had to offer. With an ability to be as brooding as other Post Punk bands or as cheerfully infections as other New Wave groups, the Psychedelic Furs were actually quite well rounded and deserve better than to be primarily known as the “Pretty in Pink” band.
