One of the forgotten players in the lore of the Chicago White Sox is Britt Burns, a lefthander whose entire MLB career was a member of the Pale Hose.

Burns was a Third Round Pick in 1978, and he made it to the bigs that year, albeit for only two games.  He was in six Games in 1979, but was finally a full-time starter in 1980, finishing fifth in Rookie of the Year voting, posting a 15-13 record and was first in bWAR for Pitchers (7.0).  In the strike-impeded 1981 Season, Burns was named to the All-Star Team and was seventh in Cy Young voting.  After a few average seasons, Burns went 18-11 in 1985, and was again seventh in Cy Young voting.

At only 26, he was traded to the New York Yankees, and the pinstripe fans were happy about what they were obtaining, until it turned out that he could never play there.  Burns was forced to retire due to a degenerative hip condition, and despite attempts to return, he never made the Majors again.

Burns would have 70 Wins against 60 Losses over his career.
