Idlewild

The rapid fire Indie Rock band from Scotland, Idlewild, made a decent dent in the U.K. music, scene in the mid 00’s. Seemingly playing with a faster pace than their contemporaries, the group was a very good Post-Grunge band that sounded different enough to make them stand out from the pack. Alas, we know the drill for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; a band has to make in the States to be a contender, and that did not happen for Idlewild.

Hanson

A hell of a lot better band than most people give them credit for, Hanson became an instant success with their catchy Pop melodies from their debut album. They also suffered a major backlash that exists to this day. That’s too bad as the talent level they have is a lot greater than just being the MMMBop brothers, but music is almost begging to be labeled.

Flogging Molly

Creating a sensational blend of Celtic music and Punk, Flogging Molly was a decent band that for many American listeners was the first taste of any kind of Celtic music at all. With that said, many (including us) don’t feel that they should see any real taste of the Hall unless the Pogues get in first; and that does not seem very likely in itself.

Five for Fighting

The stage name of John Ondrasik, Five For Fighting features Adult Contemporary sounding piano based American Rock and Roll. Ondrasik achieved some success mostly from his hit, “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” and is primarily known for that song alone. Overall, he is a good performer, but you can’t be known for only one song and expect to cruise into Cleveland.
