From Malibu’s Most Wanted, we have a comedy about a wannabe white rapper (Jamie Kennedy) whose obsession with African American culture causes him to be an embarrassment for his politician father. So what do you do when you in this situation? You try to scare him “white” of course! We did get to watch the aspiring rapper stink up in a Rap battle; in a performance that we have to think only Kennedy could give. We aren’t sure what that really means here. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Malibu’s Most Wanted (2003) Actor: Jamie Kennedy Songs you might remember: We don’t know if his raps had a name. Why you should vote for him: Jamie Kennedy had his series of fans; if you are one of them here is your candidate. Why you should not vote for him: As a rapper, he stunk. {youtube}

We wish that they showed this in North America rather than make us work to find it, but Boyz Unlimited, the six episode comedy from England, was spectacular satire of the music industry and worth a look. Funny, as we are doing this nomination process, we can’t help but be amazed at the high amount of Boy Bands on this ballot, but if you feel the need to vote for one, this is not a bad choice. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Boyz Unlimited (1999) Actors: James Corden (Gareth Jones) Adam Sinclair (Jason Jordan) Lee Williams (Scott Le Tissier) Billy Worth (Nicky Vickery) Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for them: There are not many satirical bands better than this. Why you should not vote for them: We will play the Boy Band card here….that and it was only six episodes….oh, and nobody from North America saw this.

When Steve Smith and his friends (Snot, Barry & Toshi) formed a Boy Band named Boy Jam they were signed and merged with Boy Bomb and Boyz with Mouthz to form Boyz 12. Their sexual entendre song, Girl, You Need a Shot of B12 did sound like something that would have been produced by a Boy Band producer in the real world. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: American Dad (2012) Actors: Scott Grimes (Steve Smith) Curtis Armstrong (Snot) The Fictitious Band: Steve Snot Barry Toshi Georgie T.J. Parker Victor Abraham Boris Abraham H. Constantine Songs you might remember: Girl, You Need a Shot of B12 Why you should vote for them: American Dad does not have a real candidate other than this. Why you should not vote for them: Boy Bands again…Yawn. {youtube}

Bette Midler may have been a great singer, but her co-workers considered a great pain in the ass on the set of “Jinxed”. She played a lounge singer which did allow her to show her singing skills, though it was a film that was largely ignored; much like most lounge singers are.
