Singers normally can act, though Paul Simon does seem to be the exception to the rule. In “One Trick Pony” Simon basoically plays himself (and is miserable at it) in a scenario that he was not successful. Either way, the film and the music were not successful; a rare miss for Simon.

By the time Elvis got to Harum Scarum, was he even trying anymore? In this film he goes to the Middle East….and…oh does it even matter? Like a Bollywood film, he finds reasons to sing for no reason.

The first lead role of Brad Pitt saw him as the title role of Johnny Suede, an aspiring Rock Star looking to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Ricky Nelson. We can’t say that we remember anything that Johnny Suede sang (or even if he did) but we will be haunted by the gigantic pompadour that he sported in the film. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Johnny Suede (1991) Actor: Brad Pitt Songs you might remember: The Flame Still Burns Why you should vote for him: We would give him consideration just for that pompadour alone! Why you should not vote for him: In the pantheon of Brad Pitt roles, is this even in the top twenty?

In what was the last (and by far the weakest) of the Dirty Harry Franchise, we were treated to Jim Carrey lip-syncing the Guns N’ Roses megahit, “Welcome to the Jungle” in the persona of Johnny Squares. With all due respect to Carrey, his performance was like a bad sketch and his character’s demise was not met with a lot of sorrow. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: The Dead Pool (1988) Actor: Jim Carrey Songs you might remember: Welcome to the Jungle Why you should vote for him: Carrey is one of the most successful comedic actors of all time. Why you should not vote for him: That fact did not translate here.
