Munchausen by Proxy

Munchausen By Proxy-yes-man-3963351-2100-1401
Allowing the quirky, yet super cute and talented Zooey Deschanel to showcase her singing chops, Munchausen by Proxy was an eccentric band that had a very small but devoted audience. Deschanel was backed by the real band, Von Iva, and had four songs on the soundtrack. If quirky is what this Hall is about, than pencil them in right now.

Mouse Rat

Mouse Rat
From the somewhat underappreciated show, Parks and Recreation, we have a band with their own website and a seemingly endless series of past names. Mouse Rat is led by Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) and is doing well in Pawnee, Indiana; which may not say a lot about their overall success. Still, they are entertaining, have unique songs and could be a dark horse candidate for the Hall.

We might consider them just for the series of cool former names they had:

Scarecrow Boat
Malice in Chains
Punch Face Champion
Flames for Flames
The Andy Andy Andys
Andy and the D-Bags
Crackfinger
Department of Homeland Obscurity
Puppy Pendulum
Possum Pendulum
Penis Pendulum
Radwagon
Jet Black Pope
Muscle Confusion
Just the Tip
Fiveskin
Fourskin
Threeskin
Angelsnack
Nothing Rhymes With Orange
Everything Rhymes With Orange
Nothing Rhymes With Blorange
Ninjadick
Andy Dwyer Experience
Death of a Scam Artist
God Hates Figs
Razordick
Teddy Bear Suicide
Two Doors Down
Tackle Shaft
Hand Rail Suicide
Rat Mouse

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Parks and Recreation (2009-)

Actors:
Chris Pratt (Andy Dwyer, Vocals and Guitar)
James Pierson (Drums)
Michael Chang (Bass)
Wyatt Burlison (Guitar)

Songs you might remember:
5,000 Candles to the Wind

Why you should vote for them:
This band could play and they showed it often.

Why you should not vote for them:
They never got past the Pawnee bar circuit.

The Mothers of the Bride

Mothers of the Bride The
Wedding Band lasted only one season and produced what we think is one of the worst band names (fictitious or real) in “The Mothers of the Bride”. Still, this show about a group of friends who perform in a wedding band on weekends was not a bad show and musically was decent; especially considering the cast sang and played their own instruments. Had this lasted a few seasons, we think this would have been a serious contender.

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Wedding Band (2012-13)

Actors:
Brian Austin Green (Tommy, Lead Singer and Guitar)
Peter Cambor (Eddie, Lead Guitar)
Harold Perrineau (Stevie, Guitar)
Derek Miller (Barry, Drums)

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for them:
They actually were not band for a “wedding band”

Why you should not vote for them:
Like most wedding bands, they didn’t make it.

Motherboy

Motherboy
All we saw from Motherboy was a brief snapshot that suspiciously looked liked the Bluth family. The narrator, who also suspiciously sounded like the guy who played Richie Cunningham, told us that they were big in the 70’s. Somehow, with only one picture to go on, we think we could come up with a reason to vote for them.

Seriously, take a look at that picture and tell us we are wrong!

The Bullet Points:
TV Show Appeared:
Arrested Development (2005)

Actors:
Jason Bateman
Jeffery Tambor
Will Arnett
David Cross
Michael Cera

Songs you might remember:
None

Why you should vote for them:
This is one of the most awesome pictures ever!

Why you should not vote for them:
All we have is a photograph, nothing else.
