From the unintentional schlock (isn’t that the best kind of schlock?) of a Horror film, “Motel Hell”, we have a band that was travelling to the wrong place at the wrong time. Ivan and the Terribles, were the victim of all sorts of torture by the friendly psychopath in the film and did so with the great acting you would expect. The band did have a future mailman in the form of John Ratzenberger, which may be what we remember it the most for. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Motel Hell (1980) Actors: Michael Melvin (Ivan, Singer) John Ratzenberger (Drummer) Marc Silver (Guitar) Victoria Hartman (Bass) Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for them: Marijuana smoking Rock Bands that are tortured to death are rare on this ballot. Why you should not vote for them: Did we ever see them play? {youtube}

“I’m With the Band” was not the greatest Disney TV show ever created, though it did have its charm. The premise has a fifteen year old winning a contest to meet his favorite Rock Band (Iron Weasel) and in what can only happen in the Disneyverse, he becomes part of the group. The show did not have the best reviews, but it did make it at least two seasons, so it did have a small audience at least. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: I’m In the Band (2009-11) Actors: Logan Miller (Tripp Campbell, Lead Guitar) Stephen Full (Ash Tyler, Drummer) Greg Baker (Burger Pitt, Bass) Steve Valentine (Derek Jupiter, Lead Singer) Songs you might remember: Weasel Rock You Why you should vote for them: They were at least presented as successful. Why you should not vote for them: Disney or not; this is never happening in any world. {youtube}

The brief run of the Hanna-Barbara cartoon, The Impossibles, gave us a trio of crime fighters who posed as rock musicians. This debuted in 1966, and from as near as we could tell, was cancelled in 1966. Odds are with a run this short; this is a Hanna-Barbara invention that won’t be in the Fictitious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame any time soon. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Frankenstein and the Impossibles (1966) Actors: Hal Smith (Coil Man) Paul Frees (Fluid Man) Don Messick (Multi Man) Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for them: We assume you shouldn’t. Why you should not vote for them: If you need to induct a cartoon, there are way better selections. {youtube}

Another that we think barely qualifies, I.R.S. was the band that Betty Suarez’ love interest, Henry managed and later sang for in Ugly Betty’s second season. We had to put this on the ballot as this program gave us a cameo from Gene Simmons, though Gene isn’t propelling this act into the Fictitious Athlete Hall of Fame. The Bullet Points: TV Show Appeared: Ugly Betty (2008) Actors: Christopher Gorham (Henry Grubstick) We did not bother to research who else. Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for them: The only reason we have is that America Ferrera is sneaky hot. Why you should not vote for them: They were lame and uneventful. {youtube}
