One of the more successful characters of Martin Short’s career (though hands down the creepiest), Jackie Rogers Jr. was an eccentric albino lounge singer who was a tad on the feminine side, but all the way on the extroverted side. His blonde dutch boy haircut was paired with either gold or silver outfits completed one of the funniest train wrecks you ever saw. As Martin Short was on both SCTV and Saturday Night Live, we have what we believe is the only nominee to have both those credits on the resume. Is this a huge asset on the ledger? The Bullet Points: TV Shows Appeared: SCTV (1981-84) Saturday Night Live (1985) Actor: Martin Short Songs you might remember: None Why you should vote for him: Martin Short was great here, and this is one of his best characters. Why you should not vote for him: This is a lounge act. No lounge act should be in a Hall of Fame, unless it is a lounge act HOF. {youtube}

The Jack Frost Band was a Blues Cover band of nearly middle-aged men still hoping for a record deal. Led by Michael Keaton, (of course with the character name of Jack Frost), he perishes in a car accident when he is rushing to get back to his family. So what happens? He is reincarnated as a snowman. Now how was this greenlighted? The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: Jack Frost (1998) Actors: Michael Keaton Mark Addy Songs you might remember: Frosty the Snowman Why you should vote for them: We do believe that Keaton would front a Blues Band. He looks the part. Why you should not vote for him: This was a horrible film. {youtube}

If you want to employ a shredder for a guitar battle, you would be hard pressed to better than Steve Vai. He is known throughout the world for his skills with the axe, but it was a little painful to watch him lose to Ralph Macchio at the end.

Arguably the most important film to come out of Jamaica, The Harder They Come starred Jimmy Cliff as Ivanhoe “Ivan” Martin, an aspiring reggae musician who fights the record company and the law on his road to stardom. This is a genre that had not given us very many representatives, and as this is one from an iconic film, that gave a great soundtrack and is by a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, we think we may have a sleeper candidate here. The Bullet Points: Movie Appeared: The Harder They Come (1972) Actor: Jimmy Cliff Songs you might remember: The Harder They Come Why you should vote for him: This is easily the best Reggae choice on the ballot. Why you should not vote for him: Sadly, most people think the genre was only done by Bob Marley. {youtube}
