Alvin and the Chipmunks
Here is one of the most interesting nominees on the ballot. Alvin and the Chipmunks was the brainchild of Ross Bagdasarian Sr., who created the voices of the furry creatures by speeding up the playback of his own voice. It seems simple now, but the effort resulted in Grammy Awards for Engineering and two number one songs. Bagdasarian Sr., adopted the Caucasian sounding name of David Seville, who was the de facto caretaker of the Chipmunks, given the names of Alvin, Simon and Theodore.
