Low

Does being the arguable king of the Slowcore movement get a band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? If it does, then it would stand to reason that Minnesota’s Low would get into the Hall. Despite helping to pioneer this sub-genre, we really have little reason at this time to think that that anyone from this musical style will get into the Hall at this time.

Lisa Loeb

The cute librarian next door struck gold before she officially had a record deal when her single, Stay went to the top of the charts from the Reality Bites Soundtrack. The slightly quirky Singer/Songwriter never did that well again, but she was able to live successfully off her music which was probably all she ever wanted to do…..or stock books at the library.

Jamie Foxx

Regular visitors to our site know how adamant we are against actors singing.   Academy Award winner, Jamie Foxx may be one of the exceptions to that rule as the multi-talented performer, actually can sing. Foxx sold millions of records not just because he is a famous actor and comedian, but because those people actually enjoyed the music. Sadly we wonder how many other actors will fail when they try to follow in his footsteps.
Possibly the uncrowned king of retro cool, Brian Setzer first made his mark with the 50’s Rockabilly throwback, the Stray Cats. He would reemerge in the 90’s looking even further back in ushered in the Swing revival. This brings up the same question that we have asked with other musicians who have had great overall careers, but not necessarily a Hall of Fame run with any particular group.
