The 1970s would see a lot of live dance shows, but none had a better host than "Rockin’” Mel Slirrup, the host of Mel's Rock Pile. Mel was not precisely the coolest individual, nor did he know how to dance, but he seemed to get the best musical acts to appear on his show (we will never forget when Richard Harris appeared), which indicates that his show had some clout.
