Sometimes we need to remember that Empire is a nighttime Soap Opera as we have a character who seemingly came out of nowhere to become a musical mogul. Not only did Jeff Kingsley do so, but he also turned out to be an Empire figurehead and son of Lucious Lyon.
Of course, Lucious, had no idea that he was his son until he revealed it in the most public setting possible.
