We aren’t going to hold our breath waiting for Hilary Duff to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and likely neither is she.  This doesn’t take away from the fact that in her teens, she sold a lot of albums in the bubblegum, and pop genre and did have a number one album.  Sometimes music doesn’t have to be that deep.

The stage name of Cleveland’s Gregg Michael Gillis, Girl Talk can be summed up easily as mash-up of previous songs.   While that might not seem creative to some, Girl Talk does an incredible job at it and has achieved critical praise for his work.  Sampling does not get more elaborate than this.

From Canada, Fucked Up has been long known for their raucous live performances and hardcore sound.  Behind that hard exterior, some serious lyrical skill is in place, though we doubt anyone from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will ever take notice.  We doubt even more that Fucked Up cares.

While there should not be a lot of doubt that the New Zealand group, Flight of the Conchords were hysterical and ushered a lot of laughs on HBO, is there not equal perception that this is not a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act?  We will let you tell us if there is more to their story.
