For a hot minute, Chris Issak was the it-guy in music, and he had a small role in Tom Hanks' debut directorial feature, "That Thing You Do!". Issak played “Uncle Bob” who played a producer who helped the Wonders on their ascent to success, and if you look at the career of Isaak himself, perhaps there is a bit of a parallel.
