After those heroics, Tenace was one of the best hitting Catchers, showing power with five 20-Home Run years. Tenace did not have a good batting average (.241 lifetime), but he had excellent plate discipline leading his league in Walks twice, and having a career OBP of .388. Also playing for San Diego, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh, Tenace was only an All-Star once, but his high OBP and post-season accolades make him one of the better Catchers of his day.
