  • The conversation of who is the best hitter in baseball will generate many names, but in St. Louis, the answer is Stan Musial.

Musial was known for his hitting prowess and well as his classy demeanor. A three-time National League MVP and three-time World Series Champion, Musial collected 3,630 hits, 1,815 from each side of the plate. A seven-time batting champion, Musial might very well be the most consistent superstar in plate discipline. For a generation, you could count on Musial to bat well over .300, provide power and contend for the MVP.

Musial played his entire career with St. Louis, where he will always be "The Man."

We are proud to nominate Stan Musial for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
