Finishing fifth in the 1980 Olympics at Lake Placid, Scott Hamilton began a four-year run of World Championship Gold Medal wins in the Men’s singles division. Title after title, Hamilton was near flawless, making his wins look so easy. The 1984 Olympics at Sarajevo was expected to be Hamilton’s crowning achievement, and it was, though he had to come from behind as he was in second going into the long program.

Turning pro after Sarajevo, Hamilton had a brief run with the Ice Capades before forming his own touring company that became Stars on Ice. Hamilton also later became the lead broadcaster for figure skating for NBC.
