  • If you look at the professional accomplishments of Bo Jackson just on a stat sheet, you would wonder why he is here. If you saw him play in his prime, you know that he was considered to be the best athlete of his day. If this hall is based on the "eye test," who else would be ahead of him?



    Bo Jackson was an absolute beast of a running back at Auburn, winning the Heisman Trophy, but he was also a power hitter on the diamond. Jackson wanted to play both at the professional level, and he was able to do so, much due to Al Davis, owner of the Los Angeles Raiders, who were supportive of that decision.



    Jackson was an all-star as a Kansas City Royal and pro bowl selection with the Raiders, and he was a national icon and the most marketable man in sports not named Michael Jordan.



    A freak hip injury in a 1991 NFL game ended his football career, and while he was able to return to baseball, he was never the same. Jackson won’t get into either the Baseball or Pro Football Hall of Fame, but this is one that should be right up his alley.
