  • The first major head coaching job that Bob Huggins landed was at Akron, a team he brought an Ohio Valley Championship in 1986. He moved south within the state to Cincinnati, where he ran the program from 1989 to 2005. Huggins led the Bearcats back to respect, bringing them to the Final Four in 1992 and winning 12 conference titles. After clashing with the direction of the program with the new school president, Huggins was forced out.

After a year with Kansas State, Bob Huggins took over the basketball program at West Virginia, the school in which he was once their point guard. Still coaching the Mountaineers, he has to date brought them to one Final Four (2010), and four Sweet Sixteens.

We are proud to nominate Bob Huggins for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
