Guerrero made his Major League debut in L.A. in 1978, but it wasn't until the strike-shortened 1981 season that he truly arrived. This was the year where he batted .300, was named an All-Star, and he was a co-MVP in the Dodgers' World Series Championship.
Guerrero would become Los Angeles' lead slugger, belting 30 Home Runs in 1982, 1983, and 1985, and in all of those seasons, he finished in the top four in MVP voting. 1985 was especially strong, as he led the NL in On Base Percentage (.422), Slugging Percentage (.577), and OPS (.999). Guerrero was an All-Star again in 1987, but was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals during the 1988 season, and was an All-Star there in 1989 when he led the NL in Doubles (42).
The Dominican played until 1992 and retired with an even .300 Batting Average with 1,618 Hits and 215 Home Runs.
