Nedved responded with the best NHL season of his life. He scored 45 Goals, 54 Assists, and 99 Points, all of which were career-highs. Nedved was also second in the NHL in Shooting Percentage (22.1) and third in Plus/Minus (+37), and he shook off the lousy playoff performances of his past with 20 Points in Pittsburgh’s deep playoff run.
He would have 71 Points in his next season (1996-97), but the Nedved of old returned. The Czech star held out due to another contract dispute, and he was out of the NHL for a year. He was traded back to the Rangers after a year, but he miscalculated and likely cost himself over a million dollars in income.
As a Penguin, Nedved had a Points per Game Average of 1.10 with 170 Points in total.
