From Sweden, Holmstrom went stateside in 1996, cracking the Detroit roster during his first year in Michigan. The Left Wing was considered one of the game's best screeners and seemed to be glued to an opponent's Goalie. Holmstrom may not have been an elite scorer, but had six 40-Point years, totaling 530 in a 15-year NHL career; all spent in a Red Wings uniform.
Holmstrom helped Detroit win the Stanley Cup in 1997, 1998, 2002 & 2008, with 97 post-season Points.
