Biron backed up Dominik Hasek in his first two full seasons with Buffalo, and he became the primary backstop when Hasek forced a trade out of Western New York. Biron had large pads to fill, and while he would never replicate what the "Dominator," Biron did well and generally kept his GAA well under three. The Sabres did not make the playoffs when Biron was the top Goalie, but the blame has not been attributed to Biron, who was considered to be one of the biggest reasons they ever came close.
Biron was traded to Philadelphia late in the 2006-07 Season, and he left the Sabres with a 134-115-29 record.
