A Second Round Pick from Illinois, Woodson played his first seven seasons in the NFL (1958-64) with the 49ers, and from 1959 to 1963, he was named to the Pro Bowl. Woodson led the NFL in Punt and Kick Return Yards in 1960, 1961, and 1962, and he was a First Team All-Pro in both 1959 & 1960.
Woodson was also a very good Cornerback, who accumulated 15 Interceptions, and had as many Fumble Recoveries. The Niners even tried him as a Running Back on occasion, but with his combined Corner/Return abilities, he was a valuable asset for San Francisco for years.
