It was that championship pedigree that attracted the New York Giants to him, and they used their First Round Pick in 2002 to select him. As a rookie, Shockey became the game’s top Tight End, earning a First Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl with an 894 Yard year. Shockey didn't just turn heads with his route-running, but he was also a key blocker who gashed opposing defenders for the other offensive skill players. The native Oklahoman would go to three more Pro Bowls with New York, always hitting the 500 Yard mark in Receiving in every season he was there. He would win a Super Bowl Ring in 2007, but it was bittersweet, as he was injured in week 15, and he was not available to play for New York in their win over New England.
Shockey signed with the New Orleans Saints in 2008, and helped them win a Super Bowl the year after. With the Giants, Shockey totaled 27 Touchdowns and 4,228 Yards.
