Haley fit in well to the Cowboys' 4-3 defense, and while it wasn't always smooth behind the scenes, there was no doubt that he made Dallas' defense a much better unit. Over the next four years, Haley won three more Super Bowl rings, making him the first player in NFL history to have "one for the thumb." He went to two more Pro Bowls and earned another First Team All-Pro. In both of his Pro Bowl years, he had double-digit numbers in Sacks.
He retired briefly after 1994 but came back, but back issues and an ailing daughter had him retire again after 1996. He did come back for one season in 1999, but that was with San Francisco. Haley would overall have 34 Sacks for the Cowboys.
Haley would become a Pro Football Hall of Famer in 2015, four years after he was chosen for the College Football Hall of Fame.
