Novacek arrived as a Free Agent in 1990 from the Cardinals, where he played five years, but only started six Games. In Dallas, he became an instant starter, and while he was not the best blocking Tight End (though he knew how to tangle up defenders), he was more than adequate in creating offensive yardage and giving Aikman that additional option. Novacek was with Dallas for six seasons, and he would accumulate 3,576 Receiving Yards and 22 Touchdowns, and he would have another six TDs in the playoffs, where he helped the Cowboys win three Super Bowls.
Novacek was named to five straight Pro Bowls (1991 to 1995) and was a First Team All-Pro in 1992. Severe back issues forced him to retire after the 1995 season, thus preventing him from adding more statistics.
