Mike Mussina won more games and played more seasons as a Baltimore Oriole. He also was never named an All-Star as a New York Yankee. Still, there is no doubt in our minds that Mussina belongs on this list.
After a long run as Baltimore’s ace, Mussina would spend eight productive years in pinstripes and probably could have played more had he not chosen to retire. He would go 123 and 72 with the Yankees with 1,278 Strikeouts. His last season was actually his best winning 20 Games, but he would choose to call it a career rather than continue to play at age 40.
Mussina was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.
