Lynn was a brilliant flyer but was barely seen as he competed primarily in independents for years. He made it to WCW, but was saddled with a mask and an uncreative name of “Mr. J.L.” which saw him little more than a glorified jobber. Like many others, Paul Heyman gave him a chance to show what he could do, and before long Jerry Lynn went from vanilla babyface to the “New F’N Show”.
Nearing the age of fifty, Lynn has announced his impending retirement this year. Thankfully, he did receive his chance and thousands of fans got to see him on the big stage.
