42. Mike Rotundo

There have been many wrestlers who were great amateurs and were able to parlay that into a successful career in professional wrestling.  Mike Rotundo was one such wrestler, though people really paid attention when he dropped the nice guy vanilla toast persona and showcased a side that nobody thought he was capable of.

Coming off some good years in the National Wrestling Alliance, a lot of people thought that Mike Rotundo committed career suicide when he joined the WWF for his second run and donned the character of the evil income tax collector, Irwin R. Schyster.  It didn’t happen that way as Rotundo immersed himself in the character and was able to entertain in the ring with his substantial wrestling skills and agitate fans with his irritating character.  The biggest knock on Rotundo was that as talented as he was, he just wasn’t a top of the card performer but he was a great mid card wrestler who could always deliver the goods.
