It may have seemed as if the Stone Roses exploded onto the scene, but it was really a slow burn to success. Like the Smiths did years earlier, the Stone Roses became the main guitar based band of England. Their brand of music echoed the Invasion bands and Metal bands of years previous. In many ways, they sounded like they took a bit from every key genre that Britain produced and created a sound so infectious that it took over the country. Countless bands copied their style and catchy Alternative Pop was all ablaze. Record company issues and general apathy prevented them from following up, and when they did five years later, the reaction was a general disinterest from the public. They never released anymore material after that and the story of a band that should have been so much more ended.
