The Black Keys are often labeled as an Alternative Band, but the duo comprising the band from Akron, Ohio have so much blues influence in their sound that in some ways seems like the natural evolution from blues influenced rockers form the early 60’s.
The Black Keys broke through to the mainstream in 2010 and sold out arenas while reaching the top of the charts. While mainly drawing from Blues influences, the Black Keys would still incorporate a myriad of influences to their work, be it from punk, surf or psychedelic and always did so while maintaining a dirty and raw sound.
Already achieving significant critical acclaim (which definitely helps any HOF cause) the Black Keys are making an excellent case for the Hall thus far.
