Inducting Ringo Starr also likely ensures an appearance from Paul McCartney. I'm sure that didn't escape the minds of the powers that be.

I can just see the announcer guy reading off the attendees. "With appearances by Sir Paul McCartney, Will Smith, David Letterman," etc.

Very good point.

Ringo = special guest which = revenue.

It's a shame that the Smiths haven't been inducted yet. Anytime I think of the 80s I think of the Smiths. Morrisey has been singing about how depressed is he for so long and deserves a reward now.

I've been a fan of green day for so long. I'm hoping they win. If they don't my back up is Nine inch nails. I think we need more bands like Boston to come back. Rock and roll is dying in my option but thats just me

I agree, Green day is one of the only rock and roll bands I can still listen to. Not sure why but I believe the old rock and roll was much better and green day only one worth my time.

really great included bands, rock and roll will never die, there will always new songs and bands of styles always with innovations and new features but most bands have the influence of rock and roll, long life. ;)
