83. James Blunt

Okay.  It isn’t that this song is lyrically bad, although finding a song about the love or beauty of a woman is as commonplace as finding grass in a suburban backyard.  Frankly, the song is fairly generic, but hooks people solely on with Blunt’s high pitched repeated “You’re Beautiful” line in the chorus.  Do the people sucked in even know any other lyric?  Probably not, as James Blunt acknowledges that the song is not exactly his strongest effort.  Likely, it is one of those songs that just gets played in the background listened by people who are too lazy to change the dial while dropping their kids off to school and wait for that chorus, which is the only part of the song they remember.  For the rest of us, the song is just annoying….especially when Blunt gets to the “You’re Beautiful” part.
