His beginning with the Pens was a little strange, as he was waived, claimed by Boston (where he played three Games), and then waived again before being reclaimed by Pittsburgh. He would only score 22 Points in 51 Games for Pittsburgh in 1997-98, but he would double that the year after.
In the next two seasons, Lang found his offensive form, scoring 65 Points in 1999-00 and achieving a personal best of 80 Points in 2000-01, which helped them reach the Eastern Conference Finals. He played one more year with the Penguins (50 Points) and then signed with the Washington Capitals as a Free Agent.
As a Penguin, he scored 261 Points with a Points per Game Average of .76.
